If you are concerned about the character diminishing effects of today's media on the children for whom you care, or your child or grandchild, you should be interested in this presentation.  The current situation regarding mass media influences is reviewed and practical and realistic methods to minimize damage to our children's character are discussed.

"Parenting in a Media Filled World" is a personal effort to help families by Delton McGuire. 

No presentation or speaker fee is required. All that is asked for presentations for Churches of Christ is reinbursement of travel expenses, and this can be prenegotiated.  My home, the small community of Cherokee, Texas, is located in central Texas 100 miles northwest of Austin and 150 miles southeast of Abilene.

If needed, Texas presentations can be sponsored by Cherokee Home for Children as a part of its public relations efforts. 

 A 'Sunday - all day' format seems to work best.  In this format, the morning bible class covers the first section of the practical subject matter.  A sermon during the worship period usually follows and looks at scriptural issues.  Later in the afternoon or evening, one or two sessions complete a discussion of the pragmatic methods of helping our children. 

You may also use this seminar as a community outreach program, the adult class in Vacation Bible School is great, or whatever fits your parents' needs in the best way.   Program length and format are very flexible. 

In order to help more families, it is offered in a politically correct 'positive character development' content format for school and daycare organizations.
